WEST INDIES CRICKET BOARD TO BE RENAMED CRICKET WEST INDIES - Not a big change though?
Mumbai- West Indies Cricket Council (WIcb) has become more professional now. It will now be renamed Cricket West Indies. This was revealed by the president, Dave Cameron.
In an exclusive interview at the hotel here, he says: "This decision was taken at a recent board meeting and the new name will be the West Indies cricket to be effective very soon.
"The main sponsor of the West Indies cricket will not change. He said Cameron and we will have a business entity now."
This system will follow in place with Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, where the country's name followed by the word "cricket".
In New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and follows the word of cricket of the country names and known as the Cricket New Zealand (NZ), Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Among all test playing countries, plates cricket in England, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh control.
