Anil Kumble not in favour of shifting IPL from India
Former Indian captain Anil Kumble said on Wednesday that he in favor of the shift in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was not games from the country.
"IPL is a global brand that brings revenue for the country in amount. It should not be moved," he told reporters during a visit to the Greenfield Stadium in Karyavattom.
The veteran cricketer was the Sports Hub Trivandrum in the stadium and spend time with the first batch of students of a sports coaching academy to visit, co-supported by sports training Kumble and consulting firm TENVIC.
Last week BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur indicated that IPL Governing Council may advise to move the 2017 edition abroad.
IPL was played twice outside India, both in the assembly election years. In 2009 it was suspended for the entire duration to South Africa and in 2014 was moved to the UAE for the first 15 days.
This edition was seen by many through various outfits PILs filed. 12 matches have been moved from drought-hit Maharashtra on Bombay High Court the Directive after a PIL was filed, claiming that a large amount was used to water to keep various cricket stadiums in the state.
Earlier during an interaction with the students, Kumble said that his academy was pleased class coaching to bring the budding state sports stars.
The KSFL-TENVIC Sports Coaching Academy its operation here on April 20 with Coaching for cricket and football.
TENVIC, founded by Kumble and table tennis player Vasanth Bharadwaj, Kerala occurred in conjunction with the Sports Hub Trivandrum.
