In cricket there is no need for a coach: Abdul Qadir - Is He serious?

At a time when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking for a head coach for the national team, Abdul Qadir, the former Pakistan spinner to appoint, instead suggested to be the captain, all power given.

"Having a coach, is a waste of money and nothing else. In cricket there is no need for a coach," he said on Sunday (April 24). "The captain is the leader and the driving force behind everything.

"Tell me, do players who need international cricket coaching each have played. What the motivating players or planning strategies involved in cricket the captain is the right man to do this."

Pakistan have had no successful run in the last time. After a dismal performance in the Asia Cup and the ICC World Twenty20 in India, Waqar Younis, the coach, and Shahid Afridi, the captain, stepped out of their respective position down.

What followed was blame game with Intikhab Alam, the team manager, calling on the Board to dismiss both the captain and the coach while Waqar to Afridi went to blow for his leadership.

Qadir felt put an end to all that the captain should be held responsible for the team's performance. "Every time we get a series or tournament the captain and coaches blame each other for losing the results. To put an end to this practice, it is best, the captain quite everything is blamed on the team."

Pakistan has with the likes of Bob Woolmer, Dav Whatmore, Geoff Lawson had several foreign coach at the helm of affairs in the past. Qadir felt, however, that although Pakistan several foreign coaches had for more than a decade, they failed something with the team to achieve. "Between 1999 and 2014, we had several foreign coaches and what they have achieved is nothing. The only time that we 1992 World Cup or the 2009 World T20 title Intikhab Alam had won responsible for the team," he stressed. "I appeal also the ICC to send this practice to stop coach or the promotion of coaching concepts in other countries, as it achieved nothing.

"Here it is in Pakistan, we tend to be impressed by the white foreigners or those players who have left Pakistan and abroad to earn their living off and show them key bookings and financial packages without results per month, give. "
