Four held for IPL online betting
Four persons who allegedly engaged in online betting during the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab were arrested.
Harshad (42), Shamsu (45), Ifsul Rehman (34) and Mohammed Rasheed (31), all business people here last night were arrested by a rented building, police said.
Police have seized six mobile phones, computers and Rs. 5.02 lakh from them.
The raid on the premises was obtained the following information conducted by Nord Assistant Commissioner, K. Ashraf.
A team led by circle inspector Nadakavu Moosa Vallikadan and Sub-Inspector G. Gopakumar made the arrest, told police PTI.
A case under the provisions of the Kerala Gaming Act was registered against them. They were later released on bail.
The procedure was that they would sign up to become an all Indian betting site once the IPL started games and start added bets police.
In yesterday's match in Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad Kings XI Punjab defeated by five wickets.
