Misbah ponders staying until Australia tour
Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan captain proof, the possibility of extending his career until the series against Australia later this year. Although it will depend on the form and fitness, Misbah said he is willing to be part of the test team for what will be a condensed period of action starting with the tour of England in July, followed by the series against West Indies and New Zealand before the Australia trip.
Misbah has recently recovered from a calf injury and will participate in the Cup Pakistan this week. It also intends to reach England squad ahead of the test and participate in some of the parties in Pakistan A in preparation for the series starting on July 14 after an extended layoff from the longer format.
last test cricket in Pakistan was in November when they completed a 2-0 victory over England in the UAE. Misbah suffered a calf injury in January and was ruled out of the National Cup one day and then brought to the injury through much of the PSL. After undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy will now use the Cup Pakistan - a provincial competition of five teams - as the first step to prove his fitness.
"I'm fine and I hope that this injury will not be a problem ahead," Misbah ESPNcricinfo. "Unfortunately I have not had the chance to play cricket, but I intend to go to England with some of our guys before the tour to play some practice matches fit on the condition there. I have a cup a day, camps conditioning and road ahead, so I'm looking forward to-host. has been very difficult to be idle but I made my mind to play the series in England.
"Whatever you think it is positive and want to contribute and this is what I'm planning to play a certain amount of time so that young people are ready to take my place. I hope that by the time I leave, test equipment Pakistan is in safe hands and standing solidly on its own feet. If the team stays intact, when a new captain replaces me should not feel different. "
Misbah will be 42 next month, but still - restriction of the recent injury - in very good shape due to the huge amount of effort you put into upfield. There had been a suggestion that the series last year against England in the UAE would signal his retirement, but the president of PCB Shahriyar Khan asked him to reconsider those thoughts.
"As a captain and a player can not achieve everything, but I'm satisfied with the result I managed to Pakistan so far. Although I'm disappointed that I could not do well with the limited overs team I think I've accomplished a lot. If I manage to play the England series then you should also play next West Indies, New Zealand and the series of Australia, and mainly because they are in close gaps. Although I'm sure my will to act throughout the series will also be subject to my physical form and as if dropped, then I will walk in place rather than being a burden to the team. "
Test team of Pakistan has been much more successful in recent times that the sides of a day or T20. Misbah had a good relationship with Waqar Younis, who recently resigned as coach, and it is expected that the position to be filled in the next three weeks. Misbah said it was a disappointment to see Waqar out.
"Obviously it does make a difference when a settled combination is broken. I had a good understanding and things were well in evidence, but at the end of the day you are professional and finally have to adjust accordingly. I hope the new coach arrives early and we can talk about leaving for the tour of England with good chemistry. "
Misbah does not have the same stability in the side of one day and out of that role after the World Cup 2015. He believes Pakistan limited overs deriving from the domestic game, but hopes that improvements can be made problems.
"For this we have to look at our system and evaluate why we are not able to obtain an appropriate remedy in limited over cricket," he said. "T20 has it been our strength, but when people started to take it seriously left behind. Look around everyone is improving and there is a lot of innovation that brings in the game and skills of individuals are getting better.
"So we also have to get this kind of mechanics in our system and play all the games that we can. In the past, one-day cricket has reduced domestic cricket so how can you expect that you will get a good limited-overs cricketer? we used to have the Wills Cup was very competitive and we managed to get a lot of players at that respective time. I think this league T20 [PSL] start producing players after two or three years. good players can only be produced when they get competition. "
