Cricket South Africa (CSA) The Board of Directors have agreed to a recommendation of the Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat, management is authorized to carry out a comprehensive review of domestic cricket under its auspices.

This review is now underway after working sessions were held, first, on 12 April with a broad group of stakeholders and then all CEOs affiliate and franchise in its biannual meeting CCA which concluded yesterday.

CSA have employed the services of the leading consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY) to guide and facilitate the process. The EY team is led by Michael Lalor, Director of Strategy. Michael has 18 years of consulting experience both locally and abroad, and is an expert strategic enabler.
Interviews and workshops will be held across the spectrum of stakeholders including cricket players, coaches, commentators and other members of the media.

As with the international review of cricket there will be no time placed in the process. However, it is expected that this review to be completed before the start of the new season with any recommended changes, if any, implemented from next season.

"With the team of our men considered among the best in the world in all three formats and our women's team constantly improving our development pipeline and the system of cricket as a whole has been, to date, a reasonable success," said Lorgat . "However, given the changing global dynamics and our unique socio-political context in SA, we have to be proactive and ensure that our internal system remains relevant and productive on a sustainable basis in the foreseeable future.

"Two critical factors are the need to give all South Africans access to our great game and at the same time pursue standards of excellence. Our goal is to achieve the perfect balance between the player access and excellence in performance.

"The aim of this review is, therefore, to ensure that the system continues to transform and sustainable produce winning players and teams that can compete with the best in the world," he said Lorgat.
