Indian Cricket Team to Host New Zealand in First Day Night Test

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has confirmed that the Indian cricket team later in New Zealand organize the first 'day-night Test'.

Anurag Thakur, secretory BCCI informed of the Board's decision that will definitely be a crowd-puller in the five-day format of the game.

Thakur said that the venue for the landmark test has not been completed. He added now that the Duleep Trophy will act as a "dress rehearsal" for the historic game.

"We have decided that we will play a day-night Test match with pink ball against New Zealand later this year," Thakur said. "Before this Duleep Trophy will act for the day-night match as a dress rehearsal."

"Although we have not zeroed on the venue in, there are many factors that must be considered. Things like dew factor, as the spinner on Indian pitches with pink Kookaburra bowl."

The very first 'Day Night Test' between Australia and New Zealand was played with Kookaburra pink balls, but in India SG Test balls are used in the five-day game.

"We ask SG pink balls produce later, but this has to be the quality of pink balls, produced Kookaburra the" stressed Thakur.
