The popular TV actor Gautam Gulati, who is making his debut in Bollywood with the biopic "Azhar" found hard cricket commentary.
Gautam, who grabbed eyeballs with their stay in the reality show "Bigg Boss", the role of cricketer turned commentator 'Ravish' in "Azhar" was tested.
It was through Ekta Kapoor that the 28-year-old actor learned about "Azhar" which is based on the life of former captain Mohammad Azharuddin Indian cricket.
"I play the role of 'Ravish', which is a flamboyant cricket player and commentator. For me, the hardest part of my character was catching the right to cricket commentary," said Gautam PTI.
"I just saw a lot of videos commentators do things right. I saw a lot of videos of Tony Greg, Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu to understand how they do comment," he added.
According to Gautam, the cricket commentary is not an easy task, as it requires a lot of presence of mind.
Besides getting the correct part comment, Gautam had to work on his physical well.
"I had to look lean so I did an adequate job for that," he adds.
However, Gautam had no chance to play cricket in the film.
"There's nowhere (game) cricket for me in the film. I'm not playing cricket in the film. I miss playing cricket. The story is more about Azhar (Azharuddin) and his journey," he added.
Directed by Tony D'Souza, "Azhar" starring Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta, is slated to release on May 13.
The film is a motion picture production Balaji and Sony Pictures Networks.
