Pakistan cricket must modernise itself- said by Wasim akram
It was the March 25 campaign and the gloomy world Twenty20 Pakistan ended on that day. Ironically, that happened out in today still celebrate winning the World Cup in 1992. I think the biggest mistake in Pakistan cricket. We need to move from winning in 1992, because this is history. We must think about the future, about three to four years from now. We forget that even in 1992, we had Imran Khan is planning three to four years in advance, and the final cycle of rigorous training for a month in Australia. Unfortunately, we are a year behind the rest of the world in the game of cricket. It is shocking to see the fitness of some players Pakistan level. It is almost as if they were in the Stone Age. You can search the internet, look at Facebook and Twitter to see how the rest of the cricketers keep fit. Look at the likes of Alastair Cook, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, etc. We need to learn from it and get better.
The truth is that this is the best lot of players we have. We have to go deeper and changing everything from the bottom up. We need to get to talk in terms of fitness and fielding etc. structure of the first class is constantly changing every year, which happens in India? The problem is that the man responsible for the game of cricket, a former local journalist. How will things change? Before every tournament we raise the hopes of winning it, but the truth is you can not win just by hope. You need to plan in advance for it. This change will happen if there is someone who has a vision, but I doubt it will happen.
Shahid Afridi will face the questions he will have to answer them. Commander to take responsibility for the performance of the media and fans alike. If he wants to continue this is his decision. But I think the biggest question is: Does Pakistan need a single leader for all three forms? I think they do. Lamp can continue the test captain for a little longer, but I think in the shorter forms of Sarfaraz Ahmed can be considered. The problem is we do not have to combine great talent we have three different views, how can we have three captains? Sarfaraz needs to improve his fitness and get access to the required level before taking over the post of commander in the shorter formats.
Pakistan did well in the tests, but with the fitness levels and will struggle over the next five to four days. The next round is England where he played four tests. Tennis will struggle because the stadiums and will do everything possible. We have a lamp and Younis Khan in the tests, but only two of them will not be able to cope with everything. Others, such as Al-Azhar Ali Mohammad Hafeez need to intensify too. Retired Shoaib Malik, for tests after he scored 250 and that was strange. We need to take drastic steps. I think some members of the PCB did not want me to contribute, well so I would not be eager to participate. I exist to improve Pakistan cricket, but if I did not ask to be involved, and I will not be. These negative mentality must end for Pakistan cricket to grow again.
