Pakistan cricket lacks professionalism: Zaheer Abbas
The head of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Zuhair Abbas said on Saturday that Pakistan cricket is suffering from a lack of professionalism when it comes to playing on the world stage and need to be improved urgently.
Speaking to the media in the final of KCCA President's Cup at the National Stadium, he confirmed the former captain of Pakistan in bringing about radical changes in the game of domestic cricket to make it on par with the game in other countries.
"I think it would be appropriate to deplore the level of cricket we have in general. At the international level, Pakistan is certainly in dire need of improvement. Recently, the way they played is simply shameful. This is not the way we play," noted Zouhair. "The main reason one drawback of this is that there is a clear lack of professionalism in our local set-up. This system is supposed to serve as a breeding ground but do not do enough to raise the level of cricket in comparison with other countries."
Zuhair said more coaches are picked chairman to fill the void will find it very difficult to raise the performance of the national team before the resignation of Waqar Younis points. "I do not think we need to really be a coach of the Pakistan team," said Zuhair while commenting on this topic lighter manner. . "But that will not matter much whether the man was a foreigner or hired one of our own. Mindset is the key, and it must be changed."
"Whether we should have a foreign coach is something which can only be answered by the hiring authority. At this point in time, I do not want to create any controversy by giving my opinion. He said Zuhair some people do not like what I have to say."
Zuhair said he won't'be in a row after the post of Chairman of dual PCB when he took office as President of the International Criminal Court, an important ceremonial, expires this year.
"This is news to me because I hear from you people that I run for PCB function [Prime]. He said Zuhair:" We just came back after the World Twenty20 International Criminal Court in India was not in touch with the policy of Pakistan cricket in the last two weeks. "Anyway, if you have any confirmation about this then please also let me know as well."
