MS Dhoni practices with new IPL team Rising Pune Supergiants

With the focus shifting from national duties to IPL, MS Dhoni wasted little time to relax and took to the nets with his new team Rising Pune Supergiants. After becoming first choice pick for the new team, Dhoni was appointed as captain earlier this year.

This will be the first time Dhoni will be playing for a team that isn’t Chennai Super Kings after the outfit was suspended for two years due to the spot-fixing scandal.

The ninth edition of the IPL begins on Saturday, 9th April.IPL 2016 will start on Saturday. The other team to come in for the suspended Rajasthan Royals is Gujarat Lions.

Of his previous CSK teammates, only Ravichandran Ashwin and Faf du Plessis will continue their journey with Dhoni as skipper. His other teammates now will be Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith who were picked from the Royals’ squad up for selection.

With MS Dhoni, South Africa’s Albie Morkel too joined the practice session.
