ICC World Twenty20 Final, West Indies vs England Match Preview
They dampened the local spirits by knocking out India but a resurrected West Indies cricket team will bring its own brand of joie-de-vivre to the ICC World Twenty20 summit clash when they take on a transformed England in what promises to be a battle of power-hitting in Kolkata on Sunday.
The exuberant Caribbeans, who almost did not come to the tournament owing to a pay dispute with their Cricket Board, have been nothing short of phenomenal so far. A shock loss to Afghanistan in the group stage is the only setback they faced in the course of what is turning out to be a fairytale run.
There will be little to choose between both the sides who will be bidding to become the first nation to clinch the WT20 silverware for a second time, with England having won the tournament in 2010, followed by the West Indies two years later.
Eden Gardens will be hosted the first World Cup final since 1987, when Englishmen led by Mike Gatting lost to the Aussies by seven runs in ODI painful version of the tournament. Now, after the passage of 29 years, the Englishmen play another World Cup final in the same place and will look to expel the ghosts of that infamous Gatting reverse sweep. With a 4-9 win and loss record against the West Indies explosive Islands, England may start horses and darkness but driving on the snow cool Owen Morgan made them a potent force.
Journey West Indies, however, it was absolutely perfect, given that 12 out of 15 members of the squad only agreed on the time and was terribly short on match practice ahead of the tournament. The camp was hastily arranged for a week in Dubai, all I could manage as the next accumulation in this great event. In addition, they were missing three of their key players Sunil Narine counter, Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo.
But whenever the need arises the West Indies, the hero of the team found, and most recently Lendl Simmons, who single-handedly demolish India in the semi-finals despite being the plane was delayed after a delayed call up to be replaced with Andre Fletcher.
The revelation comes a long time in the Caribbean under the 19-year-old and won the World Cup and the first team of their women have also made the final of the World Twenty20. "Cricket is the glue that unites the Caribbean so that whichever team well and it's always a huge plus for the people in the region," said captain Darren Sammy. "When the next edition is happening (in 2020), many of our players will not be around, so the title means a lot to us, and will give a strong boost at home. We have 15 match winners in our team."
Sami is not too off the mark in his claim the existence of 15 match winners. In games where the star player Chris Gayle flopped, he found a "witch Calypso" unlikely heroes in Johnson Charles Simmons and others.
England also followed a similar pattern although theirs was a story of consistency since they put their campaign on track after crushing South Africa by two wickets chasing off a stunning 230. Not long ago, a tour of South Africa in the build-up for WT20, England lost the series Twenty20 0- 2 and 2-3 series overseas and with their struggle against the ball and turning it was unimaginable to think of them making it all the way.
But quietly he made rapid progress in the tournament, especially after an epic chase against South Africa in the Super 10, where dock root Joe roles with his 44-year-ball 83.
With 195 runs at a strike of 145, England's No. 3 root rate is second only to Virat Kohli in this tournament and he will look to build roles along with the explosive opening duo Jason Roy and Alex Hills. Showing some glorious strokes off the back foot to take his tally to a fantastic engines, and Roy was a star victory over New Zealand who were considered the team of the tournament.
And Roy to be one watch out for in the beating with Jos Buttler stern, who put up and down the system.
Reluctance to 4, and it was Butler's unbeaten 66 from 37 ball powered England to 171/4 to win against Sri Lanka, while 154 ended with a tough chase with unbeaten 32 in 17 balls to send New Zealand packing in the semifinals.
England hopes to Morgan, who was the golden ducks, due to the formation of the Windies will have similar expectations of Marlon Samuel, who had hit 78 in the 2012 final against Sri Lanka winning the game.
As for the standards of the big hit, the Windies will be topped with a big tone, and the most popular cricketer Chris Gayle T20 take the lead.
Against the same team, he smacked the unbeaten 100 in the first match of the tournament, and Gayle ominous sitting quiet for some time and that he would discuss the final hurray for one in what could be his final international appearance.
Charles, who set up the win over India with -ball 52 36, and Simmons, who arrived just in time to God unbeaten 82 from 51 balls and the West Indies have ordered Top- serious. On the lower half devastating on an equal footing with
Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo and captain Darren Sammy also holds the promise of a feast on. The difference with each other for power matching tone, it's bowlers who are likely to make a difference on the field who acted slow and helped turn the ring in the events happen.
The surface may have some herbs to help the lateral movement and the English bowlers - with the Quartet to seek them from David Willey, Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes - - will fancy their chances.
Windies counterparts from relatively inexpensive - Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaiat, Dwayne Bravo and Sammy - also hope to improve the offer. And as far as the battle of spin, it is expected to stay at a certain Ali and Adil Rashid, who has managed to turn it around for England in the semi-final against New Zealand, West Indian duo of Samuel Badree and Suleiman bin forefront.

Numbers are a little short of phenomenal, with his 8835 runs in the form of nearly 2,000 more than the next guy. Averages measure withered may be a little in the T20, but 43.3 is the highest of the 30 cricketers with operates more than 4,500 career, while he is the only batsman who survey the border rope more than 400 times, his tally of sixes currently sits at 637.
Personal largest of Jamaican life has views of polarization in some cases - propositioning press on the air during the Australian Big Bash League last season, caused a storm Gael Almighty puts his return next winter in doubt - yet there is no questioning his place in the most dangerous Twenty20 batsman around, even if they have international plans currently to him sixth place.
Now sitting, going to Sunday's final, the closest to the volcano Super asleep, after nine runs scored in two innings since his 100 not lost against England in their opener in Mumbai two weeks ago, only more, to blow from 14 wandered singles, five four sixes and 11, carved between long-on and off the leg box, with bowlers Owen Morgan there was no answer.
We are waiting to discover whether the planned masterpiece on Sunday will see Mount Gayle erupt again, in what could be the final international appearance for a group of cricketers critical of the West Indies.
