7 Players who might retire after t20 World cup 2016

Hate him or love him,  Shahid Khan Afridi will remain one of the most influential players in cricketing history. Already retired from tests and ODIs, Khan will probably have his last showdown in Pakistani jersey this t20 world cup. Just like Afridi, there are many who might retire after the cup. Let's take a look at some of the great players and what they have achieved over the years.
1.Shahid Khan Afridi
When he did a century on 37 balls, the cricketing world was not aware of such power hitting. In his teens he broke Jaysuria's 47 balls century record by a margin of 10 balls. Since then, Afridi is a permanent member of the Pakistani squad. Interestingly, he started his career as a leg spinner and for your amusement he use to do fast bowling in his early cricketing years. Always under the blade of harsh critics for his irresponsible batting he never compromised on his way. With 538 total wickets in all the formats with unbelievable low economy rates (under 5 in ODIs and under 7 in T20is), he can legitimately say that he is a bowler who can bat and still managed to make 11 hundreds in test and ODIs. Though he always batted under his potential with average of 24 in One days but he managed to average 36 in tests. I will always wonder why he played so many less tests, maybe it was not his cup of tea. Whatever, we all love lala. People switch off their TV's and audience leave the ground when he gets out. Best of luck Shahid Khan Afridi !
2. Tilakratne Dilshan
Dilshan is almost 40 going into the 2016 World T20. Given his place in the side is already being questioned and his form coupled with his big-hitting ability has been on the wane for a while now, it is unsurprising that Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan features in the list of 7 players who might be playing in their final ICC World T20 though he  started the tournament with unbeaten 83 against Afghanistan. As the country’s leading scorer in the format and the second-leading run-getter in the history of T20Is, Dilshan probably deserves better appreciation from his own fans for everything that he has achieved. The inventor of dil scoop and more than a handy bowler there is no stopping when he gets going. He averages around 40 in both ODis and Tests and has his name in the 10,000 runs club with other greats. He has 39 centuries to his name in all formats. He will be missed for sure.
3. Shane Watson
Any captain would want a player like Watson in his bank. Mr. dependable has been part of Australian squad in all three formats for a long time. Unarguably, one of the finest all-rounders game has ever produced, Watson opened batting and bowling in many matches for Australia. He has a knack for picking up wickets at crucial moments and a very safe fielder as well. But you can only delay the inevitable for so long. Even though he is just 34 and the prospect of calling time at a home World T20 might sound enticing, the chances of the Australian all-rounder achieving that appear very slim indeed. Ausies will surely miss him. He has maintained the average of 40 in one day cricket and his economy rate is under 5. What else you can ask from an all rounder.

4. Latish Malinga
He has the most audacious haircut in world cricket and most deadly slinging Waqar younis kind of toe crushers and can whack the ball hard as a tale ender. One of his own kind, Malinga is one the most colorful cricketers of recent times. When you consider that he primarily just plays one format, one he is incredibly successful in, it is hard to imagine Lasith Malinga calling time on his career anytime soon. But the sad truth is that, even at 32, injuries have started to play a major role in Malinga’s time as a cricketer. So it wouldn’t be at all surprising if his international cricketing career is cut short by injuries. While much of his country’s hope in this World T20 rests on his shoulders, it is fair to say that he cannot continue to carry that burden for too much longer. At least not until the 2020 World T20. Srilanka Bowling attack will miss him for a long long time for sure.
5. Yuvraj Singh
My personal favorite, he is the inspirational character who deserves a biopic. The way he fought back from a disease like cancer and made his way back in formidable Indian batting line up calls for some serious appreciation. People like Yuvi can certainly motivate you. While the day of his retirement isn’t one Indian fans will want to think about, it is something that is inevitable, sooner rather than later. The batsman who can ball and ball well and a fielder,  Yuvi will remain one of the most elegant lefties of  recent cricket. More than 8000 runs and 100 wickets with economy rate of 5 in ODIs, Yuvi is an all rounder for sure. And yes, he thrashed Broad for six sixes in an over. Powerless timing !
6. Dale Steyn
The word aggression and Steyn goes hand in hand. Batsmen's nightmare, the bullet firing bowler is a popular cricket among all cricketing nations. While it is true most bowlers retire in their early 30s and generally don’t play well into their mid to late 30s, he is certainly someone who can change the trend and pass it on to youngsters. While his recent injury record does not assure us well for his long stay in international cricket, his general overall fitness and his desire to play is something that will keep him in play for a while yet.
But whether that will be enough to keep the 32-year-old in action in the shortest format of the game is questionable, especially until 2020.
7. Chris Gayle
What he has done to England's bowlers in opening match of West Indies at Mumbai, who would want him to retire. Gayle, the love of all, even the opponents has taken cricket to another level of entertainment. He will bat, hit sixes with a poker face and then after winning he will celebrate and set the trends. Who can forget the famous gangnam style when they became the champions for T20. But sad reality is that cricket demands more professionalism than what he has to offer. One can clearly feel that he is not running well between the wickets for long now and not contributing as a bowler as he used to do. I guess stats will not present the whole story for this great cricketer, the name "Gayle" would be sufficient. The "Sparatan" as the say !
