WC T20: India have won both semifinals played in 2007 and 2014
Mumbai, March 29: India will play the West Indies in the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday (March 31).

Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 72 off 67 balls in the semifinal against SA in the 2014 World Cup which took India to the final.
In 2007, India beat Australia by 15 runs in the semis
In the first-ever semifinal they played in the T20 World Cup in 2007, India beat Australia by 15 runs in a high-scoring match at Durban in South Africa. Batting first, India put up 188 for the loss of five wickets with Yuvraj Singh slamming 70 off just 30 balls.
In reply, Australia managed 173 for seven, thanks to a blistering 62-off-47 balls by opener Matthew Hayden. S Sreesanth, who is contesting this year's Assembly election in Kerala, was the pick of the Indian bowlers with 2 for 12 runs in his four overs. He picked the two prize wickets of Australian captain Adam Gilchrist and Hayden. India went to to win the trophy in that edition by beating Pakistan by fibve runs in the final.
In 2014, India beat South Africa by 6 wickets in the semis
India's second appearance in the semifinal came in 2014 when the tournament was played in Bangladesh. In this match, they beat South Africa in another high-scoring game at Mirpur. Propelled by Virat Kohli's unbeaten 72 off 67 balls, the Indians chased down the Proteas' 172 with five balls to spare. India, however, lost the final to Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to finish as the runners-up.
In both instances, India played the second semifinal. This time also, they are playing in the second semifinal against the Caribbeans.
