Cricket SA to ‘introduce targets’ for national teams
Cape Town - official conversion goals will be implemented in all South African national cricket team after a Board meeting of the Cricket South Africa (CSA).
CSA President and Chief Executive Officer of Chris Nenzani announced on Tuesday in a statement that the Board of Directors have approved "in principle the decision to introduce targets for the national teams"
What will happen to exactly these goals still tested, with the cricket body says that a few committees are determined to control research and the result.
"In the past we had never set targets in our national teams, but with changing circumstances, we feel it is important to take the time" Nenzani said on Tuesday.
"The exact goals is to determine, what realistic and sustainable work carried out by the competent committees. This will be announced shortly. We will achieve our goals in the course of the year and not on the basis of game."
The last line suggests that the problem of the transformation in a holistic way, with clear targets in place will ensure addressed, that there is a greater simplicity and efficiency in this regard.
Until now, there was a rumored target of four players of colour in the South African team, but, was never confirmed or chiseled in stone, cricket in South Africa.
Sometimes, the current policy has led to friction and caused controversy among certain quarters of the cricket fraternity that black players, as have marked "Quotas" and others who believe transformation is absolutely necessary to ensure the continued growth and excellence of cricket in all sectors of South African society.
In addition, targets "in the course of the year" instead of a strict game base will prevent complicated scenarios which have occurred in the domestic cricket, where a black player in the warm-up may be injured and another black player then comes from the form crowd or local club, the numbers.
The controversy surrounding Vernon Philander selection for the Cricket World Cup semi-final against New Zealand last year can be avoided in the future.
Although Philander fits to play and the voters in the election were justified him before Kyle Abbott, still ammunition, intended, to tell the opponents to the transformation that Philander transformation reasons was picked because he was under an injury cloud in the run-up to the game.
With a transparent conversion policy, where where they are a positive step by Cricket SA, white, everyone is how should it never a sense of secrecy or inhibition, equal opportunities for all players when it comes.
As Makhaya Ntini, Ashwell Prince, Hashim AMLA, mark Rabada, and countless others over the years exceeded, if they were given a fair chance in the Proteas Setup to establish, and Cricket SA hope to produce many more top cricketers from every corner of the country.
Meanwhile, continued the assessment of national infrastructures presentations on this front and the repositioning of the T20, have obtained with the CSA Board franchise competition.
Any changes to 2017/18 for the season and not the start be implemented in a few months. A 'global' T20 tournament in South Africa - has supposedly thrown up on the lines of the IPL, and others in Australia and Western India that attract top talent from around the world -.
CSA hope to have eight teams in the competition, which lasts between four and six weeks, and that could be played between November and December, with a final on the day of Atonement on the 16th.
