'Aussie' way of thinking solves England problem
England's willingness to embrace the Australian way of thinking is clear since Trevor Bayliss the team last year. This approach paid off when scored a career best 254 at Old Trafford Joe Root, again on the second day of the second test against Pakistan. Root was England's best batsman of all formats for the best part of two years embodies the positive - whisper it - Australian style approach, which was cultivated by the former New South.Wales coach of Bayliss with spectacular success. But the importance of the Yorkshireman latest Masterclass in Manchester went in addition to contribute to his team in position for a victory of the series push leveling to set. This is because the knock from the root over 10 hours and 18 minutes and beat his previous test best score of 200 against Sri Lanka in the Lord came out in the year 2014 at No3.
This is traditionally a problem position for England, that in addition to the four-year Jonathan Trott his own between 2009 and 2013, the selectors made it clear was plagued for years. Nick Compton, Gary Ballance and Ian Bell have all recently tried and couldn't get into the role. Still, root looks the only true first drops after the production result in only his third innings passed this landmark since the poisoned chalice at the beginning of this series against Pakistan. The logic of moving him to a place in the order of four was simple: he is England's best batsman, so why not?
Now, as the English to overthink these things and have favored in recent years a blocker like Trott or Compton, ballast, the top job offer. -There's the school of thought, which argued that moving root from a position where he had made mountains of runs, it was foolish if it's not broken why fix it? But Bayliss some clarity after Compton's failures offered during the series against Sri Lanka in the first part of the Northern summer and suggested that the time was ripe to promote root. Australia have held the view that the team the best batsman should be about three o'clock, for a long time.
And this is the Australian kind to think that England referred Captain Alastair Cook when root announce promotion before the series against Pakistan. "I think it's the right thing to do," Cook said. "He is our best player and it's quite an Australian thing in a sense - the best player bats at three o'clock." We have not always the best launches in the last 18 months or so run. So moving up there is that hopefully help him. There is no reason why he will continue not achieved that same amount of runs, doing at four o'clock."
Matching given the Aussie theme, it turns out that cooking is a root, to move up to three over a beer. "Actually, he needed not much work at all, he was really excited to do it and he understands the reasons", said Cook. "It is a bit more responsibility on him at three o'clock, but at certain times, it is anyway early at 4 A.m. so that it be not much different." Sometimes you have to think outside the box to watch and for us the No1 page seemed to make sense to get our best players, at three o'clock in the world with the players we have at the moment "It is to move only a natural thing for him."
For root of this double hundred justification of England, decision was him the additional responsibility at hand. He said: "I had only two games there, or three innings, for now, but it is very nice, a great score on cotton at three o'clock early. I hope it is the first of a few." Bayliss hope this is certainly the case, and the first signs of Australian recommend bold but obviously to promote the move to root was the right decision
