Law frontrunner to coach Pakistan: reports



Former Australia batsman Stuart Law is the preferred candidate to take over as Pakistan's new head coach, according to reports. It is the Pakistan Cricket Board reported as their first choice to replace former coach Waqar Younis has elected a Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday Act. PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan did not return the selected candidate at a media conference after the meeting, but confirmed a coach had been selected and would be officially revealed yet this week, while PTI confirmed a source from the PCB Governing law as unanimously cited choice. "(Former Afghanistan coach Andy) Moles is the back-up than the PCB to resolve some problems with (Stuart) Act because of his former coach obligations," said the member of PTI. "We want to make no announcement now until the contract is signed, when we were still talking to the candidate (s)." Law will fill for the upcoming Qantas tour of Sri Lanka in place of Greg Blewett as Australia's batting coach who miss the July August tour due to the birth of his second child.
Cricket Australia general manager of team performance Pat Howard said when Law is used as batting consultant, he is free to pursue other opportunities. "Stuart has worked as a consultant with Cricket Australia and we are thrilled he will be part of the Qantas tour of Sri Lanka," Howard said on Wednesday. "As a consultant, he is free to pursue other opportunities outside of this commitment." The Pakistani head coach position has been left vacant since Waqar resigned at the end of the ICC World T20 in India last month.
Pakistan next task is a tour of England in July, where they play four Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international. Law, one test and 54 matches has as a coach before Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the top level and recently Queensland and the Brisbane Heat.
