England county cricket: Shahid Afridi fails to perform well in first ODI

Proving to be consistently inconsistent, former Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi was unable to perform dazzlingly in ongoing County Cricket Tournament in England, reported on Wednesday.
According to details, Shahid Afridi represented Hampshire team in Royal Cup in first one-day international but the player showed dismissal performance as he was unable to snatch any wicket in his 10 overs.
Afridi was also sent back to pavilion after scoring only 4 runs.
Earlier, Shahid Afridi claimed to perform outstandingly in county cricket to regain the confidence of Pakistani selectors.

In an exclusive interview with cricket.com.au, Afridi said that he is focusing on cricket and want to continue it. He said he is looking after himself very well and working hard to maintain fitness level.

"I still feel that I can play for the next couple of years whether it is for Pakistan or PSL (Pakistan Super League), Big Bash or England (domestic) T20s."
"In fact before coming (to this interview) I spoke with the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and told him that it is good to have youngsters in the team but in case he needs me I will be available.

I’ll be available for the national team whenever it needs me," Afridi said in England.
